Wirtz Wins Liverpool Player of the Month for the First Time
German star Florian Wirtz has won Liverpool's Player of the Month award for January, following his strong performances with the team recently.
The English club announced Wirtz's victory in the monthly award presented by one of the official sponsors, marking the player's first achievement since joining Liverpool during the last summer transfer window from Bayer Leverkusen.
The player, wearing jersey number 7, delivered an impressive performance in January, participating in all nine of the team's matches and starting in eight. He managed to score five goals and provide two assists, including goals against Fulham, Barnsley, Burnley, Qarabag, and Newcastle.
Wirtz's triumph came after a fan vote on the club's official website, where he surpassed teammates Hugo Ekitike and Dominik Szoboszlai.
The player expressed his happiness with the award, stating that it represents an important achievement for him with the team. He highlighted the Newcastle match as one of his standout performances, where he contributed an assist and scored a goal that helped his team secure a significant victory.
Dominik Szoboszlai leads the list of Liverpool players with the most Player of the Month awards this season, having won it three times, while Hugo Ekitike and Federico Chiesa have each won it once.
